Danseys Pass, Otago, New Zealand

Danseys Pass is a mountain pass in the Kakanui Mountains, between North and Central Otago. It reaches an elevation of 935 metres.

Danseys Pass is unsealed and is cut directly from the Haast Schist Bedrock.

The Danseys Pass Hotel was built in 1863, and has since been added onto. It's located at the locality known as Kyeburn Diggings.

After climbing the Danseys Pass, arriving at the Hotel is like arriving at an Oasis. The hotel has new owners Lisa and Rick Jamieson, the changes they have made to the hotel and surroundings grounds are great. Great place to stop for coffee and food or stay over for a few nights. Their hospitality (inclusive of their staff) was the reason we stayed three nights.

Highly Recommended
